Hospice House

What is Hospice House?

Hospice House provides the perfect environment for someone who wants the comfort of home, but does not have a caregiver or the caregiver is not physically able to provide the care needed in their own home.

Hospice House can accommodate three guests at one time.  The facility is completely furnished and has all the amenities of home, such as cable television and personal phones.  Each guest will have their own bedroom and share common living areas such as the living room, kitchen, and sun porch.  There are two handicapped-accessible bathrooms and a fully equipped laundry facility on the premises.

Fresh, nutritious meals will be provided for guests, and families and friends are welcome to join their loved one for meals for a nominal fee.

The house will be staffed with around the clock caregivers who are trained to care for people who are coping with life-threatening illness.

In addition, our hospice team will make visits to the guests just as if the person resided in their own home.  Members of the hospice team will be available on-call to assist with specific resident needs.

Who is eligible to live at Hospice House?

In order to be eligible to live in Hospice House, one must be enrolled in Clarion Forest VNA’s hospice program.  Additional qualifications included:

How is this paid for?

In order to maintain the level of care that Hospice House provides, guests are charged a daily rate for room and board costs.  This enables us to provide the guests with around the clock caregivers, a private room, meals and all the other amenities.  For those who are unable to afford the fees, financial assistance is available and our staff will assist in determining eligibility.
