Memory Bears are a special project of the hospice volunteers. These caring volunteers create a unique bear from an article of clothing that the family has selected of the deceased patient. This project began in 2006 and since that time hundreds of bears have been created that have become lasting tributes to the patients.
The guidelines for receiving a memory bear:
- The patient must have been currently enrolled in the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice Program at the time of his or her death in order for the family to receive a bear.
- Because the bear is created by a volunteer, please allow 6-12 months for your bear to be completed.
- One bear will be made for each hospice patient we cared for when requested by the family.
